Tonight I made her an Acapulco. Recipe from Cocktaildb:
Shake in iced cocktail shaker & strain
2 oz white rum (6 cl, 1/2 gills)
3/4 oz lime juice (2.5 cl, 3/16 gills)
1/2 oz triple sec (1 cl, 1/8 gills)
2 1/4 oz egg white (2 1/4 oz, 7 cl, 9/16 gills)
1/4 oz sugar (3 dashes)
Add mint sprig
Serve in a cocktail glass (7.0 oz)
I didn't have any fresh mint, so we went without that. It is quite frothy from the egg white (I might have used a bit too much, I'm struggling with measurements for things). She likes it.
Update: Started to separate 5 minutes later. I wonder what I did wrong?

Pisco Sour
Friend Rod Schiffman made this for us a few nights ago. She liked it! Need to aquire some Pisco Brandy.
Blackjack
This drink is not sweet enough for my lover. Here is how I made it:
3 oz Kirsch
1 1/2 oz coffee
1/4 oz brandy
I shook it on rocks and strained it into a martini glass.
She felt it was bitter -- wanted something to sweeten it. We debated Baileys, Caramel flavor and Vanilla flavor.

What this is about
A decade ago I began drinking. At 40, I started something most people begin in their teens and quit in their 40's. Or not -- and they die of some horrible disease. Ok, that's a bit much, but that sort of polarized thinking has typified my life. So, there it is.
Anyway, a couple years ago my sweet lover began drinking too. You know, what I drink is fairly boring. Beer, I blog about it on Sunday Beer Club, wine? well maybe. Martini's... I used to blog about it... but what can you say about a large gin martini EVERY NIGHT? But, my sweet lover, she likes various incarnations of drinks, and so I thought I'd keep track of what I serve her, and what her reactions are her.
So, that's what this is about. Drinks I make for my wife.
